Tomar Trust
Since 2018 Tomar trust has supported numerous development projects within Ballincollig Community ensure the school grounds, facilities and educational resources remain at the highest standard for current and future generations. Today Principal Karen Forde and the Board of Management welcomed Maeve Cavanagh, daughter of the late Dr.Cavanagh to Ballincollig Community School and expressed our sincerest gratitude for the funding provided which has had such a phenomenal effect on educational facilities here in BCS. The Board unveiled a plaque in recognition of the contribution Tomar Trust has made to Ballincollig Community School and also made a presentation to Maeve as a token of appreciation for all the funding received from The Tomar Trust.
Tomar Trust Funding has supported the following projects and more in BCS from 2018-2023:
· Walk way cover for the school from corridor A to C
· Gym equipment upgrade in the Fitness Suite for our PE department to incorporate as part of the PE lessons. Used for staff and students after school.
· REAL Care – Baby dolls for transition year and LCA students to engage in reality of parenting and to also use as part of the Social Education module in LCA
· Green House for Horticulture classes which is now a shared project with COPE
· Outdoor benches for students to use at lunch times.
· Purchased a school stage
· 25 biotechnology apparatus
· 20 new laptops and a storage trolley for the LCA classes
· Purchased eight PC’s and the software for the DCG room DCG
