As per direction from the Department of Education and Skills, Ballincollig Community School is closed as and from 6pm on Thursday, 12th March until the 29th March 2020.
This means that there will be no access to the school building from the time of the shutdown.
The Microsoft 365 platform will be used by teachers to liaise with pupils. If any students have any difficulty with their Microsoft 365 accounts, including email, please email email@example.com, using a different account, and we will respond.
All students and those doing state examinations in 2020 will have the full support of the school during this time. Students should work through the normal school day and use this valuable time as they would in the classroom. Teachers will continue to work with 3rd, 5th and 6th year students throughout the two weeks.
We wish all our families well – stay safe and stay well.
Congratulations to some of our Transition year students who won awards at the UCC MPT awards on Wednesday. The School of Computer Science and INformation Technology at University College Cork runs a variety of outreach programs aimed at primary and secondary schools from the Munster area, called “Munster Programming Training”.
David Selmeczy won third prize in the the programming competition – 171 marks out of 180. David Brett was not too far behind and David also won third prize in the Website Design competition – again another major achievement. The last part of the course involved the students working in groups to make a short film and John Cotter and Peter Klys took first prize here,
